Ah ... they are cute, Hoping to have some of these soon myself. Do you have any pictures of the eggs after they have hatched and still clinging onto the mother?

On POST #4, it shows the eggs are about to hatch. You can see that it has a clear coating on the outside and the inside remains brown.

The following, POST #5, shows a female carrying eggs. I should have used a different picture but I thought that one looked the coolest. However, if you can see her eggs, those are the ones that just hatched. Hatched ..eggs are clear and you can see eyes. If you were to remove one of these, which in my case, they fell off the mother, you can see that they are already wiggling around but unable to actually get up and walk.

I dug up another picture from my album to help you see a clearer picture of hatched eggs that have not yet walked. This picture is the SAME female and eggs of the one in POST #5. I just didn't end up posting it.

That picture makes it very clear now, just checked up on the female today, the eggs are dark in color, and im taking the day she went into hiding as the berried date which is 21-Apr-09. Will probably shift her to the breeder cage next weekend.

Thanks for taking time out and replying to my queries, just that this is my first breeding experience with any kind of crayfish and i want to get as much information on it as possible.

You have inspired me! I want to breed these one day. Don't know what I will do with them all, but I want to do it anyway!

Now I just need to get me another tank lol....

Female #2 died today! Their generation is slowly dying off.
Luckily, female #1 is still alive and carrying her babies around. They should hatch any day now :-) The little babies from female #2 have grown up quite well, as seen in the latest images. They're going quite strong, hopefully to continue to live and breed for more generations to come.

Fully grown when purchased. Hence why they bred for me so early :)
They were already an inch + when I first got them and already at a breeding age.

They don't live too long, I suppose.

Baby Batch statistics, it goes in the order of they were born. The females alternated in giving birth!

Female #1:
1st batch - Survival rate: Zero-Low
I did not put these guys into a breeder net, they all disappeared in a 2 week time period. I was able to put one or two into a little container to raise them separately but they escaped and disappeared.

Female #2:
1st batch - Survival rate: High
1st batch is a little over a month old now. Going very strong. I had over somewhere around 40 of them. I probably lost a about 2-3 during the first week of putting them into the net. After that, they all went strong. Gave away a few, sold some off and the rest I am keeping. I probably have about 20 or a little over, running around the tank. They were in a breeder net for a month and was released only a few days ago.

Female #1:
2nd Batch - Survival Rate: Low
Only a handful of this batch survived. I did not have a spare breeder net, so I let them wander in the tank with the adults. I don't know how big the batch was this time around but this female generally doesn't produce much. Female #1 is smaller than #2 and last time I counted, she only had about 25 or so. Around 6-7 survived and are still roaming in the tank.

Female #2:
2nd Batch - Survival Rate: ???
She had about 35 babies or so this time (estimated). A few died when I placed them into the breeder net. They're only less than a week old as of now, so I don't have much to say about them right now. Female #2 passed away, so this ends her batch updates.

Female #1
3rd batch - Survival rate: ???
Still carrying them. The eggs have hatched already but still cannot walk. I'll update whenever I feel like I'm not being lazy.
