My multies are still very skittish and I was thinking about getting some dithers for them. Right now I have 4 adults in a 15g with about 10-20+ fry of various sizes. I was thinking about getting some gertrudae rainbowfish as dithers. Would that be a decent option for the multies? I figure size wise it works. Or any other options are welcome too. I have some endlers growing out I could use as well.

Any small rainbowfish may work. The praecox rainbowfish is another option. But I would hesitate to add dither fishes, thinking in the safety of the fry or in the extra aggression of the breeding multies.

I bought a trio of dwarf platies while they were on sale at Petsmart. They stay up near the top of the tank and have really made my multis less shy. The multis will charge at them but haven't made contact. The platies have no torn fins or injuries. They just swim all over and around the top.

in A 15G with that many multies in it, im not sure if there is room for dithers. i had cyps in my 55g and they make great dithers. but not in a 15, maybe some really small danios or something would work

oh, and labrat. how are the endlers i sold ya doing?

I have some endler fry in my multi tank, that are left over from when it was my endler fry tank. The multis charge at them, but even the fry are way too fast. I think it's more of a bluff than anything.

Hmmm, I may have to try it. If the tank were bigger I'd go with cyps but the small size really limits what I can add.

Austin, the endlers are doing well. I've got a ton of fry growing out atm, though most seem to be male. I may end up doing an all male tank with them eventually.

sweet, im glad they turned out nice for ya. those were the last of mine. you bought both bags right?

and i consider you lucky for having all males, all i ever had was mainly females. the males are great.
