I needed a temporary stand for a 25 gallon tank, and so I threw together this little beauty. It sure isn't pretty, but it will work for a month until I can pick up the stand I am getting off someone else.
Amazingly, we had no cinder blocks around the house, so I went out and bought some. They are cheap anyway. I also bought a cheap 2x4, and cut it into 28 inch planks (the tank is 24 in long, and that gives me an inch on either side). The 6 cinder blocks (I probably could have done 4, but safe is better than sorry) and 2x4 cost around 11 dollars. Not too bad!
I didn't glue or attach anything in any way. I assume that the weight of the filled tank will hold stuff in place.
Here are my photos. Prepare to be unimpressed!!!
