Be very careful, when the particle board gets wet it will swell up and come apart.

yes thank you, I thought of that as well, and coated all pieces in paint before putting it all together, that way all parts were covered including edges that were butted together and wouldn't normally be coated in paint...plus there are like 4 coats of paint on the thing...so hopefully it will last awhile...

I have done simular projects, one thing I like to use is truck bed liner paint.......Gives a textured look and very water repellent. You can get it in cans to roll on or spray cans. The spray cans give you the best look, but for larger projects I do one coat of the roll on first for better coverage.

thats very interesting, I will definitly have to look into that, I know in about a year I will have to move the tank anyways, so I could repaint it then, it might be quite difficult to do it now that everything is all set up...
