DIY 72g Build w/custom canopy, UGJ & lots of extras (picture heavy)

whoa very very impressive.
lol the eheim tube looks like a straw in that massive tank

lol, I guess it does. :) The tank looks massive in my living room though, I'll need to get a room shot tomorrow. Thanks.

Boy, you sure do everything first class - looks amazing!

Thank you. This tank is the exact tank I wanted so we really went all out with it.

Been a little quiet here huh? :) Well we are getting quite close to be done with the construction part of this project! That always causes mixed feelings though. And I did not leave myself a whole lot of room to add to this thing. :)

So the color quartz is NOT clean. I am slowly working on taking it all out and rewashing it in a bucket. :mad2:

I did make some progress though!!

Stained & 1 coat of varnish.

The backside

A sneak peek! 3 coats of varnish and ready for lighting!

I hooked up the lighting tonight but don't have the pictures yet, I will update with them either a little later or tomorrow. Tomorrow I just have to install the hinge and I think I am done, I think. :) Once it is complete I will add other angles too.

Let me know what you guys think. I need some motivation to finish cleaning the horrible colorquartz!! Fill, stir, dump, fill, stir, dump......:wall:

Thanks everyone!

very nice! However I do wonder how a UGJ works...

As in the actual mechanics of it or how well it does what it is supposed to?

lol, yes I did put it in front of the window. :) We have a projection screen TV in that room so the blinds are never really open anyways.

Thank you for the encouragement! The lights are added & I will upload the pictures a little later. The fish probably won't be added until the end of October, at least the bulk of fish anyways. There is a fish event on Oct 25ish (my first) & I was told I can get some great cichlids at great prices so we will see how that goes.
