DIY 72g Build w/custom canopy, UGJ & lots of extras (picture heavy)

Thank you williedee! I am quite happy with it.

I would have had updates sooner but I am stubborn and couldn't give up on the colorquartz. Now that I have a replacement I may try a degreaser or something similar and see what happens, worse case I throw it out.

I am definitely getting more rocks, probably later this week I will be picking up 50lbs. After a couple days I will start the fishless cycle so the next update will probably be a long way off. :( Although I do have those new stainless steel trim tanks that I have not done anything with yet...Hmmm..... :D

I agree that the left side looks more like a reef, partly because the fake rock on the left has alot of greens & orange/reds in it. But I really love the feel the 50/50 gives off, almost like real sunshine shining through clear blue waters (nothing like our local waters).

I see BK has a recent update too! Going to go check that out right now.

lol i completely agree. Just dont make 2 of an ocean mood in a fw tank :silly:
Why not seed the filters you plan to use so the cycle completes faster??

Saltwater tanks seem to be wearing off on me lately...:uhoh: I have a 58g Oceanic with overflow & trickle filter just sitting in my bedroom, all alone & empty. :headshake2:

I will be seeding the tank with a fully cycled Eheim 2213 from my FW community tank.

More pictures anyone?

I can't wait for the water to clear up! :grinyes:

Thanks everyone!

Waiting to add fish is by far the hardest part! :)

(not counting the colorquartz, of course)
