DIY CO2 newbie support group

I have bubbles! 1 every 11 seconds mind you...I did give the bottle a shake around 3pm so hopefully it will speed up a little, but soo happy I have something coming out!

Excellent!

One thing I didn't notice on your bottle caps was silicone. With the glass diffuser, this could be suseptable to future leaks. Just a heads up. ;)

I've now got three bottles that are ready to be hooked to the tank at one time. I'm still running my initial single 2 liter, but soon I'll be replacing it with three 1.89 liter juice bottles. I've got a question that I'm hoping someone can answer:

Would there be a benefit/different result from running two separate inputs of CO2 into the tank? For example could I leave the 2 liter going into the intake for the canister that it's going into, and then use the other 3 bottles to input into the other canister (the output of which is a spray bar on the other side of the tank from the single output on the first canister.)

Any thoughts?

There certainly no harm in doing this. It will better disperse the co2 through out your aquarium.

Now on to me. :FIREdevil: I CAN NOT WAIT TILL I GET PRESSURIZED CO2 NEXT MONTH!:rant2: yesterday I put 2 2liter bottles in line to one seperator/bubble counter. I get 2-3 bubbles a second. You think I have anything going in to the tank? of course not! GRRRR I got mad and siliconed all 3 caps literally shut. Still no bubbles. in to the tank. If i slightly bump one of the co2 bottles I get a gazillion bubbles in to my tank. I have no idea whats going on but its really pissing me off!

cheap check valves, maybe? try blowing through one next time you have a bottle open. PITA diffuser?

1 check valve. It is new, but that doesnt mean it is already shot.... gonna check this. PITA Diffuser? not sure what you mean. Its just an airstone. bubbles get sucked straight into cannister filter. I know it isnt that.

PITA... pain in *** ***

just covering the bases. as you see diy co2 is very inconsistent and it might be best to wait it out. when all else fails... systematically eliminate your equipment as possible cause.

lol pita is diy co2! AAAGGGHHH lol i removed the check valve and elevated all three bottles above water level. The silcone tubing is new too. Only thing that has changed is the third bottle. Dang you pepsi! ha jk time to wait...

first, for your issue: What's your room temperature? Mine was like that (lotsa bubbles when bumped, shaken, no bubbles for a while after) for a while. Maybe you need to wait an extra day.

I certainly won't complain if I suddenly am in possession of a pressurized system, also.

But back to ME! ;) So is it actually true that the LOCATION of the CO2 infusion is relevant? As in right now only the right side of my tank (where the output of the canister with the CO2 is directed) is really benefiting? because I think judging the way things look in the tank that that could be the case.
