DIY Compact Fluorescent (CFL) Strip Light Retrofit

Did you get yours together yet?? Im eagerly awaiting!
No, it's snowing here right now so we didn't get a chance to go shopping for the other stuff I need. But I do know that I'm just going to silicone the sockets to the strip...so that's all you would need to do for yours. Just find something that you can use to lift the socket off the strip, then silicone that to the strip and the socket to whatever you use to lift it. If that made any sense...lol.

I need help buying the CFL bulbs. When I buy bulbs what watt am I looking for? Im trying get a total of 60 watts for my 30 gallon. Do I buy the bulbs that say 10 watts but put out 30 watts of power?
Four 14 Watt CFL bulbs should do you...though you may be able to find a higher wattage bulb.

They have a wide selection of bulbs. You have to dig through to find 6500k bulbs, but they have them...all the way up to 105w. Be sure to look at the size of the bulb before you order make sure it can fit where you want it.
