DIY Shrimp-proof Prefilter for AC70

Glad you guys like the deco, lol. I carefuly peeled it off one of those giant rubbermaid storage containers just so I could put it on the tank. Too perfect to pass up.

Not to derail my own thread, but I've been up since 2:30AM and this is what I came up with. Hope you are all enjoying my creations! lmao

Here is mine!

Fuji water bottle, cut out three sides

I had to stretch the nylon a little higher for mine, as there are two intakes, and I needed to cover the top one. I also used black, because my filter is black, lol.

Works much better than the sponge I was using!

Nice one, Kyryah, that's huge! Awesome surface area, maybe 2x what im getting from this little 12oz. I like how it's actually wide open at the top for your high level intake.

Thanks :) Here is a full tank shot, got excited and forgot to post one, lol. It really doesn't look too conspicuous, and once my plants and moss wall fill in it will blend in even more. I left the back of mine solid too.

is that a sticker saying that you should not put a small child in the tank?

Darn I'd been keeping my youngest in a 29 Gallon.

Do you think I should move her into a 55 Gallon instead- now that she's crawling she may need more room.

I would think with the amount of waste your average toddler produces you would need to keep her in at least 150g. Tank mates should be chosen carefully. Anything that fits in their mouth eventually gets put there.
