DIY Shrimp-proof Prefilter for AC70

hahahahahaha...

I keep my 12 year old sister in a 40 gallon hex with no problems as of now. I just need a way to filter everything that comes out of her mouth...pre-teen girls are the worst! I might have to try the fiji water bottle thing and see if that works.

What kind of sponge are you using? All my tanks have sponges on the intakes and they go a month and some go more before needing to be cleaned. I use open cell foam which has about 1/16 in holes.

Great idea Zebulon. I am definitely going to try this.
I've got an idea. Have any of you seen a T.V. add for a "Magic Vase" It is supposed to be pliable. You heat it under hot tap water and then you hand mold it to your design. Then run it under cold water and it stiffens up. I'm only guessing here but I bet it can be cut through with a box-cutter or razor to get the desired effect that you had.
P.S. Got any pics. of your stream shrimp?
 
I would think with the amount of waste your average toddler produces you would need to keep her in at least 150g.

Lol. Sexy. I had nylon stocking over the intake tube of my whisper but it kept getting clogged w/ algae really fast. I'm definably going to try this when I move them into my 15 or 10 gallon.
