Nice DIY but I wouldn't rely on silicone to hold on pvc . I would just use pvc glue. It might not matter on this small of a project but just wanted to bring it up. I have had disasters in the past trying to use silicone on plastics



I wouldn't dare use PVC glue in this application because of the possibility of toxicity. BGC is correct, you don't really NEED to silicone the caps on but if you're going to be moving them around or storing them for later use, I say it's better safe than sorry.Nice DIY but I wouldn't rely on silicone to hold on pvc . :iagree:PVC can be used for potable water lines - therefore the PVC cement/purple primer must also be safe for potable water when cured. I've used it all over the place in my tanks, if its safe enough to drink through, the fish will be fine.
