DIY Water Bridge

You could get away with just one heater, but I think it's a good idea to have a heater for each tank. You can never be too cautious.

i have completed a very basic one of these...so far, the lone betta in the tanks has not ventured to the next tank....how long does it usually take for them to go exploring? or is it maybe the type of fish? should i try some tetras or mollies or something?

IME, schooling fish, like Tetra's, very rarely use water-bridges. Schooling fish seem to be bound to one tank and individually they rarely wander off from the school.

The most basic reason my non-schooling fish use the water-bridges is to search for food.
