just a reminder. you can't prove evolution right with science. and you can't prove creation right either. you can prove nothin with science unless you disprove all contradicting ideas. this is far from done. so all we can do is argue. :argue:

yes, he is a very typical evolutionist. claiming no conflicts between the Bible and theistic evolution. but look at Genesis, it does say DAY, not years.
The Earth orbiting the Sun also conflicts with scripture. Galileo followed Copernicus and dared say otherwise. Got him placed under house arrest. Only took 400 years to get an apology for that one.

It also says "with the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day". Much of the Bible describes things non-literally for a variety of reasons. It is entirely possible that Genesis is no exception.

many men(and probably women too) have studied how each book of the Bible is written. many are written non-literally but the first chapter is written literally. I'm not a Bible scholar myself but I know and have known lots.

Missing link is another misnomer. Evolution is not a series of begats, it's like a web. And no, misidentification does not happen in this way. If you're working with a tooth- of course it's possible- and scientists are the first to acknowledge when taht sort of mistake is made. But when we are talking about mistaking Homo Ergaster or Home Habilis for a malformed Homo sapiens sapiens- no, that would be like mistaking the skull of a donkey for the skull of a horse or mistaking a cow for a giraffe. The differences are just too great. And I don't believe that saying you can't prove evolution right with science is accurate either- we can understand the mechanism and why it happens, but we cannot test the hypothesis in a lab because the time frame needed to do so is immense. That is the only reason that evolution is referred to as a theory. It's a technicality imposed by the standards scientists uphold.

Psalms 92 "He has made the world firm, not to be moved"

Psalms 103: "You fixed the earth upon its foundation, not to be moved forever"

Joshua 10:13- "And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. ... So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day."

Ecclesiastes 1:5- "The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose."

This was the basis for his trouble. In addition to Galileo being an arrogant jerk, even though he was right.

So do you mean to imply we have uncovered all the secrets and understand the full meaning of every verse in the Bible? Do you believe those scholars to be infallible? It is essentially a given that we do not understand everything and have mistaken some things; we should be open to determing what those things might be so that we can better our understanding of our own religion.
