If you're looking to save money, why not see how the plants do without CO2? Everybody's tank is different and you may find that you don't need CO2 to have healthy plants.
A canister, yes. Would be a simple and efficient way to diffuse DIY. A HOB allows for too much gas exchange really...would be a waste IMO.
Not sure of the specific design on this canister but if its completely sealed off from the outside air, than Co2 diffusion should be near 100%. All you do is run the tubing up the intake of the filter.So you mean that i can diffuse it through the canister like the tom rapids canister? Thats what Im going to get....
