I'm running a Rena Filstar XP2 in a 29 gallon fish only tank. Do I need an additional powerhead or is the Rena's output enough? thanks!

Well, it will push 300 gallons of water per hour in a 29 gallon tank. That will be ok if you just want fish. That having been said even fish would be happy with more flow if you're settin up a reef it would be a must. You'll want 15x to 20x per hour.

that should be alright but like max said, try to shoot for closer to 15 or 20 times per hour. also, IME, it is better to have a few powerheads moving smaller amounts of water than it is to have one moving a lot of water. for example in my 75 gallon reef i have 2 mag 7's pushing 700 gph each. i DIYed a pvc system underneath my live rock and sand so now each mag 7 is pushing the water out in 3 different directions instead of 1 if u understand what i mean.
