Do Otos and Corys Need Buddies?

I LOVE the rasboras. I started with 11 and lost 6, added 3 more and now we are doing fine. Thank God I put them in QT when I first brought them home because they were dropping like flies from what seems to have been an internal parasite. I would like to get the school back up to at least 10-12. I also want to add more fancy guppies. They were going to be my next addition but maybe now I will wait on them and go for some cories and otos. I love the thought of seeing them moving in a little pack:)

Especially with the cory, I think you will see a big difference in behavior when they're in groups. When I've seen them alone, they just kind of chill on the bottom, moving around looking for food. In a group, they are so cute and social, and swim all over the tank together, and really seem to 'play' with each other. My otos don't school in the traditional sense (ie. they don't always swim together in a group like rasboras and corys would), but they love to play with each other as well, and chase each other around the tank. I'd definitely add more rasboras, corys, and otos before adding the fancy guppies.

I've had ottos in pairs or singly, and they hid all the time and only snuck out at night to look for food. I see a LOT more of them when I have at least thre in the tank.
