Do you name your fish?

No. The practise seems somehow demeaning to me. I make a conscious effort not to anthropomorphise and giving them names seems to invite comparisons to human beings. So often names make reference to behavioral traits that the person doing the naming has decided the fish was exhibiting. But a fish that jumped out of the aquarium and hit his keeper was emphatically not being aggressive. We can choose to interpret animal behavior based on human rules or, more realistically, try to understand the reality they are coping with. Each of these species we care for has survived millions of years in a tough natural world and deserves a lot of respect for carving out a niche in which they can compete and prosper. (In order to preserve their objectivity scientists often do not name their research subjects with anything more than a number.) An honest appraisal of any fish will never result in the conclusion that it was trying to be cute. No predatory fish is angry, or nasty, or aggressive in its' feeding behavior. It is just hungry. It is behaving in a way to maximize its' survival, period.
For me it is simply much more gratifying to try to understand the reality than to make up stories thereby distorting my perceptions. And calling them "fishies" is just incredibly demeaning and trivializing! These creatures deserve, and have my respect. I enjoy providing them with an environment in which they can relax and live a healthy life. I am not claiming that what I am providing is natural but I am making an effort to allow them to behave as naturally as they can in a glass box without concerns about predation.

Well, I only named one. My lab.fuelleborni OB Mumbles. He get a name because he was one of my first fish when I started this hobby almost three years ago. He's sort of a peace maker in the tank he does not bother anyone & when someone decide to mess with him another fish comes to his rescue.

Some of them. The betta I'll be getting will have a name: I'm trying to decide between "Rocky T. Betta" and "Louie T. Betta." If a school of fish exhibits endearing traits, I might give the whole school a name.

P - (koi, his mouth was deformed and when it shut half of it was always open, in a P shape, kinda cute)

Mr.Pink aka Big-(shubunkin, he was pink, name from reservoir dogs, he was the biggest and always had his way)

Diego-(shubunkin, always came to get his food right away, so my friend said "go diego go"-after a discussion on the kids shows the kids i babysit watch)

Phillip-(comet, was just an average orange comet goldfish in a world of colorful and patterened shubunkin and koi, so needed a plain name)

i have a small school of rasboras now, and needless to say.. i dont name them
