I mentioned to a guest that if my corydoras begged for food while he was watching them that he should not feed them. When I asked later if they were behaving themselves he said that the fish had paid no heed to him while he was watching them. When I observe them around feeding time though they seem to gather in the usual feeding spot while furiously swimming around or checking the top and bottom of the tank for food. We were wondering why they ignored the non-regular visitor and it was mentioned that they might not have recognized the new guy. My initial thoughts were that they were probably just not expecting a feeding session earlier in the day. This is kind of cool because it has only been after a few months that the corydoras seem calm enough to let me get close to them without them scurrying away. Anyway, has anyone made any observations about corydoras expressing their desire for a meal or being able to tell the difference between people (which I doubt they can)?
