Cause, I would like to know what their like.

And how many gallons you need to keep them in.

And do they really eat anything you thorw in the tank?

and also, I read online that the minimum tank size was like 130 gallons or something, but if I had two of them, would I have to get like a 260 gallon tank?

These fish grow to 30", 130g is not enough regardless of dimensions. I would stock them to about 200-250g per fish.

giant gourami, if you haven't already found that yet.BTW, I would love to have one of these fish, but, no room for the huge tank.

If you want to keep a fish that you can expect to reach 20 pounds, you need to give it plenty of space. If an oscar that weighs 1.5 pounds needs 75 gallons, a little quick math (75/1.5 X 20) tells us a 20-pounder would need 1000 gallons of tank volume. Even if a giant gourami would produce less bioload per pound than an oscar (and I'm not saying it would; I don't know), there's no way 130 gallons would be anywhere near sufficient.

1000 gallons is like a freaking swimming pool.

It definately doesn't need that much.

How small are the pools you've been swimming in?

I set up one of those 12 ft round 3 foot deep inflatible pools for my kids and it holds 1750 gallons.

Have you ever seen a full grown giant gourami?

Or any 30" fish?

Actually, after taking in monkey toes calculations, I think that may be a lttle small. Giant gouramies are deep bodied.

OK, let's try a visual aid. This tank is 9 feet wide by 4 feet high. The fish is 32 inches long as represented. Assuming a depth (front to back) of 40 inches, the nominal volume is 897 gallons. If you change the depth to 48 inches, the volume goes up to 1077 gallons. This looks to me like about the minimum tank size for this large a fish.
