Does anyone here keep natives??

I have Flag fish and Least Killies in an outdoor tank. They are all more active and breed more in the summer months. When the water temp drops into the low 40s during our So Cal winters the numbers go down and the Least Killies don't get as big.
I kept wild caught Mosquito fish in another tank for a while but they were skittish and not happy in the tank.

I have been keeping natives for the last 21 years. Over the years I have kept 63 species of natives and bred 15 species. I currently have two natives tanks. A 55 Darter tank and 180 gallon sunfish and bass tank.
A lot of the fun with natives is collecting your own. And recreating the habitat you caught them from. I have many videos of past and present tanks. And some of collecting them on my You Tube Channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/MisterCatfish/videos

I have a sunfish that is growing out in my 29gal. It eats guppies and pellets every now and then. It also likes to terrorize the crawdads. Have grown up channel cats and then put them in the pond.

I've been keeping a large mouth bass for almost a year now. Had to get a special permit to take him, because technically he was under the legal limit (about an inch). He is now more than 6 inches, and seems to be growing exponentially. More fits in his mouth, and he eats more often. Lots of fun watching him grow alongside some eclipse cats and an angel fish. very diverse setup my 55.
