does increased CO2 lead to algae...

I think the big issue with the poster is too much light.
As is the case, then balancing that is a PITA, start with light, chose less, not more.

If you need more growth?
Add CO2 next.

Then some ferts.

If that level/rate of growth is too little for you and you are a master scaper/grower.........then consider more light.

Otherwise you are simply wasting energy and having a tank that's less likely to be the goal you wanted when you started.

The balance is all about the light.

The top folks all say this, but hobbyists often no listen:wall:

and so it goes...........

inconsistent co2 can cause an outbreak of bba, keep the levels stable in your tank and you should be fine. also, jpappy is always correct on this so is plantbrain, listen to them too.

po4: dump the whole darn bag into your tank and you wont see algae growth. po4 levels at or above 5ppm to 10ppm are ideal for plant growth. if you have algae that is related to po4 it is because you dont have enough po4.

need proof? start dosing your po4 to 6ppm and continue to dose EI. then look at your beautiful algae free tank.
