Does this annoy you?

Its always the same simple problems that many are able to answer without frustration. Its really the hard new solutions that most have a problem with. Its human nature to welcome the familiar and the repetitive, and to be defensive of the new and innovative. I'm used to it though. All you can do is sigh and love-um.:)

I have the opposite problem. Can't stand people who give out bad advice like they know what they're talking about one minute, and are in chat asking absurdly basic questions the next, lol.
 
Well, isn't that kinda the point of going to a forum...to ask questions? I would be willing to bet every question asked has pretty much been asked before.
 
I don't mind the basic ones but I've gotten a little tired of saying some variant of "I'm sorry but your goldfish really needs to have a cycled tank that's bigger than 5 gallons".

On the other hand, what peeves me are people who contradict good, solid advice with other advice based on a particular tank type that is completely inapplicable to the current situation. I mean really, how applicable is experience in a walstead tank in discussing the water change regimen for a plantless African Cichlid tank?
 
I own / admin a couple forums and moderate a few others and have for over 10 yrs. It never changes. People want the answers and dont want to have to "waste their time" with silly stuff like the search function. I find it annoying. It is pure laziness.
