Does this guppy look like a platy/guppy mix?

Wow, cool fish! I think he looks part platy. I've got mollys and platys, definately looks more platy. And can see from the pic that he's definately male. Congrats on your "Pluppy"

I will too. The chances of platies and guppies successfully breeding is slim to none. Looks more like a molly anyways.

I'd say part molly. Seldom viable; interesting to see if he's fertile. I imagine probably not. Then again, hybrids within the molly part of the genus Poecilia are, so who knows?

If I had to guess I would say no...supposedly it's against all odds to have guppy x molly fry even survive. But not entirely impossible

Merely requires that the mother had been with a male molly within the last nine months or so.

It is possible that the female guppy was with mollies at some point, as well. Crazy looking fish, eh? It will be very interesting to see what he looks like at maturity. His coloration really just started a week ago, or so. I'll keep you posted with updated photos...
