Drinking tank water...

How many siphon have been started by sucking in a bunch of water? It's not something I enjoy, and if the tanks REALLY needs a water change, it's not tasty. Unless your aquarium is a cess pool of filth probably not going to hurt anything.

My cats drink from one of the tanks all the time, and they're not gotten sick.

As stated, the water from your tanks is likely cleaner than many tap water sources. I wouldn't make a habit of it, but it's not something to freak out about.

And if the water DOES taste nasty...you should probably do more water changes.

The FW water is non problem, think SW water.
If drink water tank the risk is very low, I prefer non drink

For the flavor of course! Who doesn't like the taste of fish poop and dirty water?

Do you think that your tapwater comes from fishless reservoirs? Short of those on deep aquifer wells, water in the US is mostly coming from surface runoff, stored in reservoirs. Treated with chlorine or chloramines to kill the pathogens, possibly filtered to reduce ammonia/nitrites/nitrates and heavy metals. Keep in mind that the EPA recommends drinking water have less than 10 ppm nitrates...but that's for public sources. Private wells are a whole different story.

I can't tell you how much tank water I swallowed starting up my eheim filters by sucking on the end of the tube! Or just from catching my fish....the bigger the fish the splashier they are! I wouldn't worry!
