Dry Ferts

i dont have a 1/16 or 1/32 but for my dosing....but i do have a 1/8....since i dose into pill boxes i take 1/8 of nutrient x and dose 1/2 of that into day one and the other 1/2 into day 3....for the third dosing day i dose 1/2 of a 1/8 teaspoon...it is the Estimat(e)ive Index method of dosing right???

once i find a reasonably priced, local, smidge dash and pinch measuring set ill pick that up....until now i am very content....

to get 1/32 from 1/4 you mix it in a glass of water and only use 1 oz of it. save the rest for later.

32 divided by 4 is 8... there is 8 ounces in a cup... that's how it works out so well.
1/16 will be 2 ounces... 1/8 will be 4 ounces...

for a smaller measuring spoon i use the ones that come with powder regent test kits by red sea. they're close enough and you find out how much they hold by seeing how many it takes to fill up a larger measuring spoon and dividing from there.

you can make liquid stocks to dose smaller amounts as well. with that you only need a tblsp measuring spoon, 250ml bottles (most ferts commonly come in this size bottle (it's 1/4 liter)) and a baby medicine syringe. they're cheap and available anywhere that has a pharmacy. if you make liquid stocks keep in mind plantex should be in its own bottle and refrigerated.

there should be directions for making liquid stocks in a couple of the links provided above.

i really do like coachz's approach but if you don't have the right measuring apparatus (smaller spoons or digital 1/10 gram scale) to dose a smaller or lower light tank there are ways around it. the spoons can be hard to find and scales break at the wrong time and aren't as cheap and easily obtainable.

"The recipe for this solution is 1 tablespoon to 250ml water is equivalent to: 20 ml = 1/4 teaspoon of dry Plantex"

I don't have those small measurement spoons but I have a tablespoon! the quote is off the website. So I use tablespoons in 250ml water measuring thing. Since I only need 1/8 teaspoon I only need to add in 10ml. I doubled my dry in 250ml so I only have to add in 5ml. Two pumps outta the bottle twice a week is what I'm doing.

If you go to a drugstore and go into the baby medicine aisle you will find all sorts of small measuring devices.

If you can remember that 20 drops = 1ml and 5ml = 1 teaspoon [= 100 drops (20 X 5 = 100)].
