Dwarf Gourami Breeding Question

You could put a divider in the tank. One of the clear kind, so the male can still see the female. This will still keep him building the bubblenest while you condition the female. I would feed her some live blackworms. They are great for egg building.

Hi Fish Addict
I've only kept Paradise Fish,Bettas, and Kissing Gouramis in the past. But I'll try to help.
First question I have is are you sure you have a male and female. From the website recommended above for gourami breeding the males seem to have a pointed anal fin as well as pointed dorsal. Your pics. look to me as if the small one has more pointed fins.
And from my experience breeding both Bettas and Paradise fish I have seen the female take on a more masculine role and make bubble nests. You could have the sexes reversed?

(OK I will name them male and female as I think they are :))
The female has very dull colouring a rounded dorsale fin, and the male has quite a pointed dorsal when it is fully erect.
Another reason for me believing that they are how I said they are is because the fish which I believe is female is very dull, and the male very colourful, the mopst colourful gourami I have ever seen.

Where I have read everywhere it says that the male makes the bubblenest, and the poeple on here agree. Even before I statred to breed them I knew that it was the male because of when you breed siamese fighters.

Thanks for your help though :)

If anyone thinks I am wrong please correct me.

Lots of protien floating plants to nest in. Also some of breeders of bubble nest builders take a stryofoam cup and cut it about 1/3 down and float in there tanks curved side down. This gives a large easily adhearing surface for his bubbles.
