dyed fish pics

That story is fake, at least partly so... there is no way that the fleshy part of a dog's nose would remain in tact while the dog was being dragged through the water with a hook in it.

For the "dog" hybrids... I would say, at least here in the US, it is rare. The closest you'd come is a wolf hybrid.... which technically isn't a hybrid considering wolves and domestic dogs are the same specie (Canis lupus and Canis lupus familiarus respectively). There are sometimes coy dogs (coyote/dog mix), but they are rarely intentional.

While I don't find blood parrots even remotely appealing... I am glad I can easily say it's a hybrid without taking a second glance and moving on. Hybridization, in general, I do not agree with.

The injection of dye into these fish still, IMHO, seems to be causing them discomfort. I would, personally, tell the garden shop what really happens to these fish... they may care.

Yes some of those Goldfish are beyond horribly mutated.. another that comes to mind is the Pom-pom variety.. and they go for insane amounts of money when big..why? I don't know. Just those big nose growths are ugly.

I know my Black Moor is a mutation as well with his eyes, but not so horribly so.. and at least he's cute :P

hmm i am not so sure, i think most people thought they were made up, then a group of uk activists actually went to the island and took pictures and videos of the event, and that grabbed the french government attention.

I mean it's also posted on national geographics, i doubt they didnt do any background check before posting those artiacles.

If it is real, then they should use those guys as sharkbait.

Or at least put them in this situation: :shark:

Well mister, they are not ugly at all. All fish have different kind of look, you cant say whether one of them have the best look, they are all of different kind. For example if you like goldfish, would you like someone to say it is ugly?
Who cares about surviving in the wild? They are petfish and made to be raised at home, not in the wild. Why would anyone care if they survive in the wild or not, what? you are going to live in wild with them? If you expect anything to survive in the wild, then dont buy petfish. Just go dive in one of those lake and live with those fish. Whats so hard of accepting blood parrot in your life? They are going to harm you? or they are going to make your life so bad? Like there are no other hybrid animal, think! Even some dog are hybrid.

The whole point of the discussion is that some of the blood parrots are so poorly bred with genetic defects that they cannot even eat or swim properly in our own fish tanks.
IMO...looks don't even come into the discussion as there are some pretty pug-ugly "real" fish. If your blood parrot has escaped having severe problems..great.

But it is people buying blood parrots, jeally beans, and other dyed and genetically engineered fish that perpetuate their propagation.
That's why I will not have any. Not that they will make my life bad..but my buying them encourages more to be made..and therefore more miserable fish lives.

I really don't see the point of any of these practices. Are there not enough species of fish already? I mean why even dye a fish when there's so many beautiful and interesting looking fish already. IMO no dyed fish could compare to the excellent work nature has already done.
