Eastern Box turtle burrowing.

As of now the turtle is in a 60 gallon terrarium.. i believe its 3 feet by 2 feet by aroundd 2 feet. Its quite small right now, im guessing around the size of the bottom of a water bottle. Should i mix half the pine chips i have now with half of the bed a beast? and will regular potting soil be fine for the burrowing portion?

Please DO NOT use pine or cedar chips. They are poisonous to reptiles. Bed a beast is fine and so is most organic mulches. You can use soil from a garden center but make sure it's not potting soil with the little white beads in it.

Can i use the pieces of bark mixed with the potting soil as an entire tank substrate si he could burrow anywhere?

Tell you what, why don't you go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a bag of organic garden soil. They're like $3.00 bucks for a 50 lb. bag. That's much cheaper then buying bed a beast. And it doesn't really matter if you mix it with soil, any type of bark that is or has pine in it is bad for your turtle.

OKay well i am positive it isnt bad for him.. hes been in it for years. However i think i will purchase the organic potting soil and mix it with some bark.
Thanks alot for the help Vicious.
