ebay (seller) rant!!!

Finally heard from him yesterday night;

"Sorry for the delay. Ran into shipping problem. Problem has hopefully been resolved and will return to the post office tomorrow. May have to ship via UPS or FedEx."

At least I know he's still around. I'll wait it out a bit longer. . .

I'd probably call the guy if you don't get it by tomorrow. Wait, he didn't give you tracking info?? That's annoying. Anyway, yeah, I'd call him before leaving neg feedback. A lot of sellers are just slow. They're not power sellers, it's just a side cash making thing so they're lazy about shipping etc...

Whenever I sell stuff on ebay I make sure to be conscientious and informative and timely--may not be a power seller (gag) but when I'm on the buying end I like to have things taken care of properly!!! Strange little world. . .

I seldom if ever buy from someone who doesn't have a LONG postitive feedback history...with no less than a 96% rate.

And...read very carefully the description of what you are buying....saw a fella selling what looked like large aquariums with a price starting at $99...turns out he was only selling a LIST of places to buy these tanks at wholesale prices.

Can never be too careful !

totally. When selling, i've retaken specific pictures of the item at the seller's request, sometimes I'll even pay more out of my pocket for shipping to get the item there faster.

I'm not a difficult person . Just want a little information on the item I'm purchasing, especially when spending a good amount of money on it!...

EMG, I heard about people scamming others out of money by pulling stunts like that. I heard of one where some guy thought he was purchasing an x-box console, but the seller only displayed the actual x-box bos (that it comes in) and that's what the buyer got.

Horrible, what some people will do for a buck!!

96%?? I go with nothing less than 99.6% especially if they're high volume seller, there's no reason they should get dozens of negative per month even if they sell hundreds or thousands of items. If it's a small time seller, maybe 98% and I read the negatives and make a call from there. There are vengeful bad sellers that will go tit for tat if you give them a neg. Snipe feedback is great. Just set a timer on your phone to beep you at exactly 90 days. if you're still mad after 90 days. haha. i've usually calmed down by then.

I'd give uncommunicative sellers 2 weeks from payment to have shipped the item out before I file a complaint.

Ya there was a guy from Lincoln that sold tv's. His description said 36" tv, new, great picture. What you got...a photograph of the tv! He's in jail now.

right when the xbox 360 came out ppl were selling just the boxes, and it plainly said it was just the box. the trick is tht he put so much info on the page most ppl skipped over it and didn't notice tht he was just selling the box. the guy blasted him with negitive feedback, but i dont blame the seller in this situation. to me its always buyer beware........

and cheech hope everything works out, and doesnt turn u off from ebay.

Still no news from the seller!!!

This is getting very annoying.

He left me a positive feedback, so that solves one problem...

I left him an email, politely explaining my concerns, but also hinting that if I don't recieve news by Wednesday, I'll consider reporting to Ebay.... (which I would rather avoid doing)...

In my experience, some sellers leave feedback right after they've shipped the item. This is good for you. It means you can leave him a negative if/when necessary without fearing retaliation.
