ebay (seller) rant!!!

kmgriff, I heard from him twice in nearly 2 weeks. once to give me the full amount including shipping, and another to tell me that he had "shipping problems"...

jennifier, yeah... At least I don't have to worry about getting bad feedback from this guy . . . .

In my experience, some sellers leave feedback right after they've shipped the item. This is good for you. It means you can leave him a negative if/when necessary without fearing retaliation.

Ahhh... FINALLY heard from the seller. Jennifer you were right!!!

turns out he shipped the item on the 12th. he gave me the tracking number yesterday night. now let's just hope it gets here in one piece.

:)

Some sellers seem to get away with fraud, changing their name as needed. There's a guy in IL that sells rare collector cars. A friend from Colorado flew out one-way to pick up a car that was in "drive home" condition. Not only were the photos of a completely different car, but the one he bought lacked tires, the engine was rusted into a solid block, and there were trees growing through the bumpers and hood. My friend was not happy, and had to buy another ticket to get home. Despite storms of protests from many people who have gotten "bit" this guy is still on ebay.

IME, if you are buying an item that can have something wrong with it ( musical instruments, electronics, etc ) and the seller says "It seems to work" or "I don't know nuthin about it", chances are that it will have a serious problem. You can ask questions before the sale ends, but if the seller gives vague answers they're probably hiding something. Really bad sellers trade "good" feedback, so be sure to check out what those glowing plusses actually bought. If it's a 1-cent chili recipe stay away!

I know what you mean.. This particular seller didn't describe the amp as it should have been described, but he did supply quite a few pictures, and from what I saw, it looks good.

I am expecting to get it tuned up when it arrives, change the tubes, etc. but for the most part it looks good.

So this is a vintage gee-tar amp?

well not really...

It;s a Peavey Classic 50 212.

I'm a big Fender fan, and never really checked out Peaveys.. but, a buddy of mine has a Peavey classic 50 115, and it sounds incredible... Really blew me away. So I found the 212 on ebay, and picked it up.

It is based on a vintage amp... Really has a great sound.

Can't wait. !!!
