Ecoaqualizer?

Australian Noobie
Hi all
Im a noobie around here and i am getting a brand new tank in two days. it is a 6ft, 2ft, 2ft (i think... close enough)

Iv been reading up alot on this sight and must say its..... overloading my brain!:thud: (which is good, but also not hard :) )

Im going to be keeping Cichlids (blue's, yellow's mainly)

anyway iv been searching all the little add-ons and bonus goodies for the tank and i have come accross this little number. Iv done a search on this site and couldn't find any info/comments regarding it. I'm just wondering if anyone has and good/bad comments on it as im not entirely up to speed on everything. :bowing: :bowing:

www.ecoaqualizer.com :idea2:

from what im reading it would make the filters a whole lot more effient, which is a good thing right? lol... thanks heaps.

I've seen a lot of people give good reviews on the product in terms of stabilizing PH on their tanks.

As far as controlling ammonia, nitrite & nitrate, I am not too sure. I don't think you can ever do away from doing water changes.

they sent me a test unit. Usually when a company gives me something for free I support them...

However, the unit did nothing. How does water flowing through a magnet fix all these problems? Heck, move your algae magnet around in the tank and it should do the same thing...

If you like BS and magic, buy yourself one. If you like science and not wasting your money on magical promises, dont.

Whats that quote... "a fool and his money were lucky to ever get together in the first place".......... or how about "if you are dumb enough to buy it, we are smart enough to sell it"...

thanks heaps, i thought it sounded to good. it funny how when a product is so great they always skip the how it works part

by the way if anyone comes up with a fish tank with never any problems, no work and looks perfect all time can you let me know :bowing:

lol.... (i think im learning stuff... i even was a couple of spaces ahead of the fish shop lad today - im guessing he was probly on there for a day :) )

thanks heaps again

Hi. I use an Ecoaqualizer on my ray tank, and I know of several others that use it and swear by it too. Its excellent. The water "feels" different and has a polished look to it. One thing that a lot of my colleagues and friends have noted is the surface of the water, which has no trace of bio film or oil of any kind - crystal clear. Our local supplier uses them on a three stage invertebrate tank with all sorts in it - the tank is uncovered and lit by Halides, they are the best tanks Ive see.

As for how it works - I believe their web site has a pretty good overview. And as for the previous reply dissing the unit because it was "magnetic", its quite clear that they havent tried it. It is no more ridiculous using magnets than it is UV when you think about it.

I found the article and the demo quite interesting. I have to say that as I read along, I started equating the product with magnetic bracelets. I don't believe they work for everyone and I am no scientist, so I don't really understand the workings. I just have to accept that a product does or does not work. I think I will wait for more time to pass and see what develops.

:OT: By the way, this is only slightly off topic. I tried a product I picked up by accident. I thought I purchased Tetra AquaSafe, but actually picked up Easy Balance. The two products are quite different where AquaSafe neutralizes heavy metals and chlorine/chloramines, Easy Balance acts as a pH and Nitrate stablizer. Ultimately, this means few water changes. I think this would be a great product to use when on vacation and/or a water change is not possible when normally scheduled. The cost and frequency of use precludes regular use in lieu of regular water changes, which accomplish the same thing. Easy Balance does add nutrients and vitamins; however, I have been unable to locate specific information regarding just what nutrients and vitamins those are.

So far, the product seems to have worked, at least with respect to nitrates, but then it has only been one day. My pH was 7.0 to begin with in two tanks, so no change was evident after using Easy Balance. It did bring the pH down to about 7.2 from 7.6 in the third tank. The nitrates decreased approx. 20 ppm in the tanks that had 30 to 40 ppm. There was no change in the tank that had 10 ppm nitrates.

bahaha. I have one downstairs. As I said, I was given a test unit. It is far more ridiculous to use a magnet than UV. We know exactly how and why UV units work, there is no reason a magnet would do anything to water.

I have no biofilm on the surface of my tanks either, must be that ecoaqualizer in the closet.

What sounds more realistic?

" When microorganisms are exposed to this light, the UV energy causes a change in the chemical bonds of the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) molecules. This alteration results in their inability to multiply and therefore their elimination."

vs.

"ECO-Aqualizer restores this reactivity using specific polarity and far infrared radiation. These combined forces in a vacuum sealed reaction chamber, allow ionization of passing water molecules which reduces Hydrogen Bonding."

Not to mention one of these has been tested/proven by thousands of scientists, hospitals, etc etc. The other has only been proven by those people who believe that some voodoo bracelet heals them.

In any case, I find it awfully strange how everytime I find someone who supports the product they tend to be new to the forums. Trolls from ecoaqualizer itself perhaps?

"The Earth's Magnetic Field and the Suns Radiating Wavelengths are natural forces which contribute to the missing links in achieving aquarium perfection." I still want to know how the pond outside my house benefits from this natural magnetic field, yet the tank inside doesnt. hmm. I suppose nature itself needs to install some of these devices.

Why are you beating those two sticks together?
-It keeps the vampire bats away
But there arent any vampire bats within 2000 miles of here
- See? It works!

Its just like religion and placebo medicine if you have enough faith in some thing to help you out all the cosmic rays in the universe align them selfs in just such a manor that all that was bad is now good.

It is a wonder that I've been able to keep any thing alive with my distrust of any thing with the word Miracle in it.

Just me standing on the Yellow Jacket nest, again.
