eel opinions please

no i was talking to that other guy who just started talking mad trash.

well hummm like 12 people reccomended convicts to me .

what else would make a good demsey tank mate.

something smaller bout 5 inches

1 convict is fine a pair is a NO NO cons are very scrappy and can hang with almost any fish. Personally I would go with a firemouth if you want smaller mabey a texas or Five Star General if you decide to go abit bigger both of those fish are some of my personal favorites.

do what u want but i wouldnt recommend keeping 2 male convicts together because the dominant male will deffinately beat up on the other male and may even kill it i have witnessed this i actually just traded off a nice 4' black convict because he was so aggressive(lol i got a new ammonia test kit for it). one convict is enough i like the fish but **** they can be really mean.

lol to me the green texas looks exactly like a JD ive almost thought about getting just a pair of JDs but i wouldnt know what to do with babies.

the firemouth in the picture at liveaquaria.com is ugly as sin but i did a google and apparently none of these things look the same cept for the red so i guess its kinda hit or miss

wow thats kinda cool looking. id really like something that will take live foods. like earthworms and crickets.

if i sacrificed the dempsey you think convicts or firemouths would allow me to add a zigzag or tire track eel

Yes and they will eat guppies/crickets/earthworms/mealworms whatever you feed them they will eat all of my cichlids love any live food. If you get any firemouths the best way to bring out there colors is to feed them krill.

I in no way have any advise or experience to give, but you had asked about other fish that stay around 5". Have you considered jewel cichlids? They max out at 6" and are mean as helll. from what I've heard they would have no problem hanging with a dempsey. BTW they are the prettiest american cichlid next to the JD in my opinion.

Jewel's are an african cichlids but they will live w/ a jd I dont think they get bigger than 4" though
