The tanks you see fish in at a fish store is only intended to be temporary, they are more often than not improper for the long term keeping of the fish.
However, I'd have to disagree with max here, I'd say a standard 55 gallon should be adequete for some species such as the yellow, scopas, kole and tomini tangs, provided that you keep an open reef structure wich allows for lots of swimming space.
