thank so much. they have tangs in a 40 g at the store.

The tanks you see fish in at a fish store is only intended to be temporary, they are more often than not improper for the long term keeping of the fish.

However, I'd have to disagree with max here, I'd say a standard 55 gallon should be adequete for some species such as the yellow, scopas, kole and tomini tangs, provided that you keep an open reef structure wich allows for lots of swimming space.

ALWAYS remember that fish stores are designed to have a high turn over rate, they get fish in and should sell it within a reasonable period. So the fish is in less-than-ideal conditions for a short period, while the aquariust is supposed to be housing for long term. LiveAquaria is GREAT to buy fish from, but NOT to get info from, that is why we are here. I still stand by my 75g MINIMUM! Remember Tangs get a good 7-8" long (the ones you mentioned dorkfish) and are ACTIVE! They really do like to roam and the larger the tank the less stressed they will be/the more stable the water quality which will greatly reduce the risk of ich. Anyway just my opinions.

If the clownfish is small then yes a snowflake will eat it. They are not known for eating fish but if they are hungry enough....
Just wanted to relay my story. My first SFE ate a BUNCH of my little damsels. The very first night I had him, he ate my blue devil right before my eyes! I noticed a bubble rising up, and it was because he had bitten his abdomen open and popped the swimbladder

Then when I left for a week-long vacation, I came home and noticed most of my little damsels were missing. I lifted up the big coral head, and there were most of their bodies :( So, yes, they can and will eat small fishies if you don't keep them well-fed. My cautionary tale.
