Eheim 2028

i love the closeout deals! i got a 30" peice of driftwood for $1.79!!!!! :grin

So I set up the filter, it ran for about 1 min then quit so I took it apart and the impeller magnet is broken, eheim is sending me a new one.

Got the new impeller, installed it. The power of this filter is crazy, my fish love it.

You know I never got a good sense of size scale for that filter, could you post a photo with known item next to it like a pencil, spoon or lighter wherever it happens to be working, cabinet would be best ? I just want to get a sense of size as opposed to my FX5.
Sure I will try to get some photos tonight.

Gunner the FX5 is the beast of canisters next step up is a large wet dry! nothing compares to the FX5 in a canister type of filter i have ever seen. the sheer size and power is not for the faint hearted LOL

Did you ever see the behemoth Eheim 2262? It's like 3X's the size of an FX5!

I think the new pro3's are much bigger than an FX5 too.

In low pressure systems a filters effectiveness is proportional to its surface area. Since the Eheim 2263 and 2260 are vertical inline filters their surface area is the same size as their footprint size of their lid at a glance. The FX5 is a two stage multi-directional circumference and inline filter. The FX5 surface area in just the 1st stage of the FX5 filter is 300 square inches or equivalent to the size of two 55 gallon trash container lids and that's just the first stage.
