So this filter isn't really that old, maybe couple months no more then a year. Well I just noticed today that my carpet is wet so I looked everywere. Well when I opend the stand doors I saw the floor of the stand was wet and that water was in one of those areas were you can put your hands in to lift the filter up. Hope you guys understand that.

What could be causing this?

Is this an Eheim 2026/2028? If so, it is possible that the Push to Prime button is not fully in the upward position. Check this first.

If you recently cleaned the filter and it is now leaking, I would suggest double checking that you did not pinch the filter head seal when you reassembled it.

double check the main seal(lid/cover) make sure you don't have any nicks, burrs or other flaws.
you may want to lightly rub the seal with our fingers ..look for tiny cuts or any other blem.

if the leak is near a clamp i would first suspect the main lid seal.
it is possible the seal was slightly off when the clamp was set

I cleaned the filter about 2 months ago and nothing was leaking, it just started.

I looked again and everything on the main seal looks good. No nicks, or marks on the seal.

If it is extremely easy to clamp the filter head in place, it may be time to replace the head seal. You should be able to feel a bit of resistance when clamping the pump head in place because you are compressing the seal.

But you state you cleaned it 2 months ago and it just started leaking so I assume you haven't done anything different since then, correct? Have you had any power outages lately?

Yea I haven't done anything differently. Nope no recent power outages, thankfully lol. When I get home I'll try and see if thehead attaches easily or not, but would a main seal go that quikly?
