i don't think this is eheim's problem. as far as i can see they were very respectful to you, a person emailing them out of the blue wanting discounted stuff because you didn't read the box or research the product first. they upgraded their package, now everything is included. should they turn around and send free sets of media and new parts to everyone with an older model?
you have a long quote
Research - I did do research on what I wanted, I'm pretty sure when you drop more then 100 dollars for anything, you don't go in blind, DID YOU KNOW THEY "UPGRADED"? I hope you didn't know, 'cause I didn't know...

I don't think generally anyone would have known, its not something anyone buys everyday for almost 300 bucks each, I got 2!, and I wouldn't even have known if i bought only the old one only cause there's nothing to compare it too. Online pictures show everyone with the old green ones.
I will use the word old and new box, because they market the eheim pro 2 as...the eheim pro 2, old or "upgraded", as the same model.
Free stuff - Should they give free stuff for people who've owned the old box? no. Should they, if someone bought the older box today? I would like to say yes? if it was marketed the same model as the "upgraded" one? yea? If you paid almost 300 bucks for it, yea, maybe they should give me some weird magic rocks, and adapters.
Free stuff is a form or advertisement and marketing. free stuff for known paying customers, right or wrong, thrifty or not, usually does helps yeild loyalty and profit in the long run. so yes!, I think i should have got some kind of appeasement. Do they have my loyalty? not anymore.
