Emergency!!!

any idea on what the bumps are? He still has them.

If you just did a water change leave it be if the fish is stressed already doing another water change will stress him more. I have 3 bettas and have never seen a streak on them before but you did the right thing with the first water change just let him settle down I am sure he will be fine. Just have to relax and see what happens deep breaths and stay calm.:grinyes:

I wouldn't worry about the streak, my female betta always get streaks (two actually) after I change her water, and since bettas don't swim around as much as other fish, the air bubbles tend to build on them. The bubbles should dissipate withing a couple hours if he is moving about...

The streaks are gone but he still has though bumps. Im really worried.

It could be a fungus, or bacterial infection. If you are unsure, and the pictures are not clear to see what it is, I would add a little bit of salt to contain it from spreading and buy you some more time. I've had great success with fighting back fungus and bacteria by using salt. In some cases, salt has cured body ailments such as these on by Guppies.

I'm hesitant to suggest, and please know there are so many more experts here, trust the moderators and experts first! That said this is what I usually use melafix for, situations where a clear diagnosis isn't possible, there may or may not be an infection but a 'boost' feels like a good idea. The commonly sold Melafix is really just tea tree oil (melaluca alterniforia) in a suspension to disperse it through water. It is a natural anti bacterial and antifungal, I posted a thread asking for opinions here based on experience and the feedback I got mirrored my own experiences, I wouldn't suggest dosing the whole tank but it could help the betta in his quarenteen tank (just watch levels & dosage and maybe add an airstone to the water if you have an extra) melafix actually does better with out carbob and can impact you beneficial bacteria so if the Betta is still out of the tank, it might be the best place to treat. I don't know of any impediments it would place on true RX therapies...doesn't mean there aren't any, I just haven't experienced them....I use tea tree on myself and my kids with the md & pharmacists kept in the loop - no issues with other antibacterial treatments in mammals but we use it externally, so a more educated/experienced Aquarius may have better info...
Hope things are going well

I put him back in the big tank. He was going crazy in the little one. I know a lot of you will think thats wierd because they are often kept in small places but he loves all the room in the big tank and has been in there for awhile. He's swimming around fine in the big tank and seems ok. Im going to try to get better pictures today.
