Emotionally Attached To Your FISH?

I am SUPER attached to my briggs, my corys, my guppies, my pike, my ob peacocks, my hybrid syno, my royal pleco and my RCS. Not so much for the MTS or ramshorns or danios. :)
 
I think to be in a hobby you have to have some emotional attachment to them. Yeah you got the bone heads who just want a oscar in a 30gal and feed it goldfigh cuz they think its cool but they dont count there in it for the wow factor not for the love of the hobby.

Me I am attached to my fish. From my lil baby BN's to my Big P. joselimaianus to my lil oscar to my half grown Parachromis loisellei's. Only fish I don't sweat losing are my Giant Danios and Silver Dollars. There whole purpose for being in my tank is to keep the aggression between my loisellei pair down to a minimal.

Yeah when my old Managua died man I was upset. My pleco's got a nice upgrade till I got my loisellei's then they were taken in to the LFS since I couldnt house them properly didnt have the money back then.
 
I had my Jack Dempsy Cichlid for over a decade, and he ACTUALLY knew my face... For me, he(she) would come up to the glass and seemed to be examining me, but with other people, it would get anxious, darting around erratically, etc... But always with me and only me, it was calm and relaxed.

When it passed away from old age, it was a very sad day, and no toilet for him -- he was buried on the back garden.
 
I used to be attached to my Betta, but they always die, 3 months or 1.5yrs, just die...
I'm attached to my PJ Pleco, since he is almost 9in long and I've bought him a 90g tank.
 
Yes I'm attached to all of my fish, some of them have names.
the DP is Rosie
the ram trio is Ramma Lamma and Ding dong
my biggest BP is named Hefty
and the other fish have various names depending on how they are acting that day
 
I can't manage to name my fish to where it sticks. Best I've got is a betta named Bettaman. The one I am the most attached to is my big cray. She's sometimes called Ms. Destructo but I wouldn't call it a name. Other than that I'm not terribly attached to any of the fish. I greatly enjoy them all but I don't think I would cry if they died. Maybe that will be different when my Keyholes mature and aren't slightly bigger than tetras anymore.

I can relate to this.

I do not get as attached to them as other ,more "hands on" pets. But I have named a couple,and would miss them if I lost them. But not the the extent of the cats and dog.
 
I'm bummed when I lose a fish. I give some names, some not. I have a Betta who is on his last legs right now; he's an old man. I'll be bummed when he goes, but I'm not going to cry about it.
 
I got my first tank for my 3rd birthday...that was 18 years ago, and I still fondly remember "Blacky" the black moor, "Speckles" the fantail, "Mimi" the albino cory, "Fred" the pleco, and "The Loach." He was a khuli. I have no idea why he never got a name, but we had him for at least 5 years. I think I could probably remember the names I gave every fish I've ever had! Then again, my parents never got me a puppy or a kitty, so I was pretty attached to my fish, especially when we finally got a pond. I trained our koi lol! To my great disappointment, I never did get them to "roll over," though they did learn to do circles.
