empty 30 gal wanting to put corys or loaches help me Lupin

Why such a small stock? I think Lupin's idea of 7 kuhlis, 15 neons and a pearl gourami is fine.

o whoa i thought lupin said take away 5 neons lmao okay well then i guess i'd be doing that but does peat moss keep the ph at a steady ph even after a water change?

Depends on hardness levels. You had me confused in post 20.:lipssealedsmilie:

Depending on your water hardness, peat might have no effect on your pH at all. It exhausts after some time. With each water change, you would have some change in your pH (in the case the peat works). Plants don't like it (in case you want to grow some).

Honestly, I wouldn't touch the pH. If you don't want to keep blue rams or discus or breed tetras, there's no reason to change it. And even in those cases, I think the TDS are more important than the pH.

ahahahaha once again tds how do i keep that under control? o yeah and sorry lupin lol...so u mean id be good with like 7.8 ph with neons kuhlis and peal all of them are 6.8 ish ph
im also going to my lfs today and im planning on getting this stuff for the loaches since its kinda sandy any opinions?

To answer your question in post 20, to feed small-mouthed bottom feeders, (Kuhlis, Corys.) just stick your arm in the tank with a pinch of their food, and let it go in front of their favorite hiding place. Plus, if you have sand, some of the freshly uneaten pieces of food will be eaten by your Kuhlis. My Kuhlis do that all the time.

would they eat shrimp pellets?

Kuhlis eat many kinds of foods, variety is good. Shrimp pellets, any sort of sinking tablet, wafer, pellet, flakes, thawed frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia. They even try cucumber & zucchini sometimes.

They tend to be nocturnal until they get used to the tank so it's a good idea to feed them a little after lights out at first. Mine like to rest in plants, a lace java fern is a favorite & very easy to grow. Sounds like a very pretty tank.

what is lace java fern? I mean i know what java fern is but i dont get what u mean by LACE java fern
