empty 75 Gallon tank!!!

i thought about SW but I am a college student right now and I have NO idea where i am going to be in 2 or three years and better yet in 6 months lol. So I figured I would stick with freshwater and start SW when im in a secure place. They seem to be so fragile. Ive dont alot of research on salt water and feel I could do it but i dont wanna have to worry about moving it. Do any of you know much about Frontosa Cichlids? They seem really cool but I cant seem to get any good info on them? Like can i have more than one in the tank? or will one even be able to live in that size tank. I am just start to raise cichlids. I adopted a year and a hold old african cichlid from a friend who had it and it killed all the other cichlids in the tank and it wasnt being taken very well care of and felt sorry for her. SO.... she is now in a 10 gallon tank next to my 29 gallon community tank. So maybe a cichlid tank or even a single species tank..... any thoughts?
 
i went about things exactly as you did, 26 gallon community and i just got a 75 gal a little while back...i've started african cichlids and they're geat, i love em..the other tank i'd like eventually is Japanese cichlids...I almost feel like they're the red-headed step-child of cichlids these days between the africans and the south americans....i change my vote, do Japanese cichlids

The only hitch I can think of is the cost of the LR...you'd need about 1-1.5lbs per gallon and the cheapest I have seen is about 8$ per lb. You can cut the cost a bit by buying "base LR" for underneath the good stuff, where you won't see it.

Where on earth do you get your Live Rock from, mars? the most expensive LR i've seen is 8 bucks not the cheapest.
