I saw it, I read it, please stop sending me pms and making posts about it in unrelated threads. I'm not saying it doesn't matter, and I'm not saying I'm on one side or the other, I'm just saying I don't need it crammed down my throat every ten minutes. If I want to read about it, I'll look it up myself, thank you.
 
Its a rather serious matter. Should I send you a PM about it ???
 
Each person is entitled to his own opinion. If you feel it is annoying, just ignore it or report to the staff and we'll see what can be done. I can understand several members here are worried about the future of their hobby per the HR669 bill banning imports of several pets.

If you live in the United States and would like to keep getting the pretty little fishies and other critters to put in your tank, then you should really be concerned about HR669. This threatens all the fish we keep, not just a few.

If fish keeping isnt that big of a deal for you, then by all means, dont worry about it.

But anyone who derails a thread to talk about it really should be reminded of proper forum etiquette. I think he has a valid point there and dismissing it as you've done is a bit much.
 
im indifferent about it. i mean, ill be seriously bummed if it goes through, but it doesn't bother me to have to scroll down one more inch to overlook another thread about it.
 
Have to agree with the OP to some degree, the overreaction has gone out of a hand in a few places. I even see AC members posting like crazy on other boards with threads on this.
 
I can see how that'd be annoying, and I do believe there is a no spamming rule..


About the bill...Honestly, I don't care.
Yes, fish are a cool hobby and entertainment for us, okay, but I do not think it is wrong at all to stop them coming into the country, many are wild caught, and that affect other ecosystems.

I didn't read the entire bill, but if it is just stopping them coming INTO the country, not too much to worry about... A lot of our fish in this hobby are bred in the US, except the ones who refuse to breed for us.
If I'm wrong, no problem, correct me.

I don't think that's the issue. Dedicated threads are fine, but if I started a thread about my new shrimp and had someone say "ZOMG--enjoy tehm nowz0rs bc soon tehy be band, contact ur reps to say no on HR 669!", I would not only want to smack them for speaking in pseudo-1337 (call it 1300 or 1340 for "approximately leet") but also for derailing my thread. I think that's the issue the OP has--it's that people are putting these posts in threads where they don't really belong (and spamming his inbox about the issue).
