I was in Japan and seen a Koi go for auction for about US$200,000. The lfs said if I was ever interested they could get me $20,000 for one of my Koi. Crazy market for them.

I live inside the congestion zone in London, so generally the parking and driving cost more than my fish. Plants and water treatment also tend to cost more than the fish...

its true about the koi, i have one worth big big money except he needs to grow. (He's only an inch right now, but real rare colors! i wish i had a photo....)


most i've spent on a single fish would be my L14 Sunshine Pleco, which is now 5 inchs and fat! midnight black with gold spots all over and bright orange fins, a real treat for the eyes!

I think the money I spent on fish is absolutely no comparison to the money I spent on other equipment, food, medics, etc.

12.99 each for 2 hillstream loaches unfortunatly both died. I also just spent 11.30 for a single anubias nana including shipping
