I have lots of little bubbles including a bubble wand, but I don't turn the air up too much. A couple of my fish will go thru the bubble currents, but most swim around them. That makes me think they don't like it.
Bubbles have nothing to do with how much oxygen is needed/is in a aquarium. If fish are bothered by the current they will be pushed around, or you can tell they are stressed.
