Hmmm...you got your welding certificate, and you're asking us how to build a stand???
Seriously, didn't they teach you tensile and compressive strength of metals?
I would worry about warpage, as with glass tanks, you need to support the perimeter / edge of the tank.
One of the top problems with welding is warping.

Thats what I did. I made an "L" shape for each leg. So theres a total of 8 2x4s verticly holding up the thing. And may I ask why you were banned?
My DIY 2x4 stand is four vertical 2x4's for legs. These are screwed at the four corners to two simple rectangles the size of the tank. One at the top, and another a little off the floor (can hold a second tank). I finished mine by staining it, but you could paint it too.
i was banned because my friend was making an aquarium fish help forum and i asked if i could place an ad and AA said i could but when i placed the ad for that site my friend created a login on that site and PM'ed the ad to other people so all the admins accused ME of the PMs and on his site AA placed an ad for their site and my friend deleted that and he logged in on my name asking them NOT to advertise for their site and they labled me as a spammer and i couldnt PM the admin about what happend so i told him how i felt about him falsly accusing me and verbally harassing me and then since he found out that what he was doing( the verbally harassing) was illeagle and so he banned me cause i spoke my mind in a public forum telling him about it since i couldnt PM them so yea i got banned because of that, i cant even look at the site at all!!! so its completely unfair
