Fake Stratocaster wall hanging build.

Great project! Keep with it!

I went to a friends house and traced the body and pic guard. I have some plywood now and need to do the transfers. I plan to cut two pieces of ply and build up the inside with pallet strips. The whole thing gets glued together and screwed... the screws come out when the glue is dry and then the body will get holes filled and sanded smooth. I'll use a router to round over the edges and a belt sander to taper the pic arm area. With any luck I could be painting by Sunday.

Awesome man....keep the pics coming.

wow, cant believe I missed this. Very awesome Ken

I did some work tonight... I cut the 4 pieces I traced out last night. They ended up about as rough as I thought they would. I stacked up the blanks glued and screwed.

I had to put the neck on just for fun and it looks about right. There is much work to do to get this shaped; holes, nicks and cracks filled; then smoothed.

I've always wanted to build a guitar, just lack the tools. My wife is working on a display rack for the 6 I have now ( I like to keep one in every room of the house, this is apparently not in her plans ).
It's looking great! I'm wondering though, with all the cheap strat imitations, why not just buy a cheap pawnshop ripoff and paint it?

'Cause it just ain't as fun, Afro...lol.
Awesome build, Que. :D
