After a long weekend of no work on the guitar I finally carved out a bit of time tonight. I cut 3 copies of the pick guard pattern and will sandwich them together to get some thickness and to try to get the white black white layering look. I used old album covers for the cardboard and popsicle sticks for pickups. I have some knobs I had laying around and all the requisite parts were given a first coat of paint. I tried my hand at drawing on a metal part of the pickup and a screw head using a silver calligraphy pen and a black sharpie. I marked out where all the screw have to go and where cuts and holes need to be made. If I mess up it could mean redoing a lot of work. Tomorrow... more paint and the bridge work begins. I also have to figure out the cord socket but not tomorrow.
I used a tack to physically mark out all the features of the pick guard. Those little holes, including the ones to mark out the switch, don't show up too well in that last picture but they're there.
