What are your guys thoughts on the fastest breeding fish?

Guppies? Mollys? Sword tails? Platys? Others?!

Thanks

I say mollies. Other fast breeders besides livebearers are zebra danios.

This may sound crule, but im just looking for somone that breeds fast for my arrowana to eat.

Im not touching any "feeder" goldfish. Thats like living off mcdanolds for the rest of your life.

LOL, that's hilarious. A Big Mac Attack.

Endler's Livebearers are supposed to give birth every 21 days. Guppies average 28 days. I never had Endlers, but I would think their litters would be smaller being that they are slightly smaller than guppies. My adult female guppies had litters of 45-74 fry.

So are smaller and more frequent snacking what you want or larger less frequent ones?

Personally, I'd find it easier to use the guppies the way you are looking - they are much more common, less expensive, and after a few litters often they will start losing their colors and could be considered "feeder" guppies.

Convicts will out breed any livebearer. If you pulled the fry right after they became free swimmers you could probably get about 3 batches of fry before a guppy had it's first batch of fry.

Get Convicts.

For me guppies wasn't producing a large amount fast enough for me to feed my fish but boy do the convicts do the job well!

I have an adult breeding pair in a 40 gal and they produce about 500-1000 fry every 2 to 3 weeks (younger breeding pairs will produce less and less often). They fry themselves are large and grow quickly, so it's a good meal for many of my fish. The convicts do all the work so there is no need for special attention. Just let them go at it and fish out what you need at the size you want and feed to your arowana. :)

i use con fry as feeders also, i feed around 70% and sell 30%

my aro's and pbass love em'
