I would strongly suggest, merely as an opinion, to at least include some corydoras in your tank. There are a wide range of species; including, corydoras trilineatus, corydoras aeneus which are common and cute, to somewhat odder color patterns in corydoras rabauti and corydoras barbatus. Most commonly reach 2 1/2-3 inches in aquarium settings and mine have always been very active, and particularly good scavengers. They can handle a variety of water conditions well, and they have armored bodies and locking spines to prevent injury from some more aggressive tankmates.
Inquire about them on your LFS avail's list or online at sites such as: www.petsolutions.com, www.thatpetplace.com, www.liveaquaria.com, www.****************, and others. Accompanied with some nice plants from sites like www.aquariumplants.com and you should have a nice little setup and maybe some breeding pairs along the way. Good luck and keep us up to date
