Favorite Guns

I did it as a career and pretty much fired, worked-on, helped developed, and taught just about everything. It not a bragging point because as a 30 year career it pretty much completely ruined my interest in it as a hobby and have had no desire to even handle a gun even though I could dismantle on blindfolded. Now range time interest me about as much as having change a spare tire.

But when it comes to "small arms" which is .50 Cal and below, the browning 50 caliber machine gun or any competition rifle chambered for the .50 Browning cartridge is about as fun as it gets in "small-arms" fire. major Calibers If have to say its a tossup between the 6 inch 47 turret, and the 76mm Automalara, although I always got a kick strapped behind the mechanical-fed 20mm aircraft machine gun (800 rds per).

haha nice drum mag. I'd love to get the HK MR556 or MR762, I've always loved HK but not their price tags, but with a MSRP of $2300 I'll stick with something a little cheaper. Ive been looking at DPSM, Bushmaster, and Armalite too. Good thing another gun show is coming up on December 11th in Baltimore :D

Thanks. I need to buy another one of those Beta C mags and paint it to match my A2.

H&K are nice. I use to have a true G3 but I sold it a while back. What I'm really thinking about getting is a GSG5. It's basically a MP5 that shoots .22LR.

If you want to go to a GOOD gun show you'll have to leave the "Peoples Republic of Maryland" and come to the Mid-Atlantic Arms Show in Harrisburg, PA. It is one of the largest gun shows on the east coast. It's definitely worth the drive. I believe the next one is during the first week of December. I know I'm going.

I've looked at the Barrett M99 single shot and other 50 BMG rifles over and over but with nowhere to shoot and ammo so high in price its not worth it for me, maybe someday but not soon. I'm pretty sure the largest I've shot was a Steyr 8x50mm. I've gotten some stories out of my grandfather about the quad 50's he shot in Korea and some other things and would love to shoot one someday.

Well it happens to be the same day as the Baltimore one so it looks like I'll be making a trip to PA that day. Do you know any of the transfer laws between PA and MD? I'm pretty sure from reading the law about magazines over 10 rounds is only for buying instate not owning, so maybe I'll have to do some more research on that before the 11th. Maybe I should just move to Sennsylvania though and make all of this easier lol

If you can get hold of a surplus Browning .50 MG barrel, they are threaded and you can thread and head space it to an oversize-reinforced steel forged AR15 upper receiver specially chambered for .50 BMG. You can even buy them matched for competition for about $1200 without registration since a barrel and Upper on an AR15 are not considered the a weapon by ATF. Then when you go to the range you can use your regular AR15 lower receiver as the firing mech for the AR50 upper. Just like using a lower to fire other type AR15 uppers that are sold im 9mm, exc. The safest place to keep guns is at an armory, I like to keep mine at base armory where they are safe and sound, no civilian liability, and where there is the best shop tools to work and clean them. Also if I ever need to reactivate my commission Im all ready.

I would love to have some place to store mine like that armory but right now I have nothing so they stay at my dads house in one of his two 400 lb safes. Until I get an actaul upright safe thats where they'll stay too. I don't really trust any thing that someone can pick up and carry away as a "safe."

And I like your idea on the 50 BMG, I've never really thought about anything like that and you definitely seem like someone to take advice from. Now I've just got to find a rifle range around here that doesnt require a membership thats too high.

After some research I think if I go with an AR 15 style rifle its going to have to be chambered in the 6.8 SPC

The 6.8 is a nice round it just sucks that it's expensive to shoot. :(

My favorite pistol is the Glock 21 with night sites....

I've found some pretty decent prices online so far but I'm still looking into it. I want to see what they sell them for at the gunshow coming up.
